The ongoing fracas between the Yoruba and Hausa community in the Ile Ife area of Osun State has further escalated as more casualties have been recorded.
According to a senior police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity with TheNewsGuru.com, over a hundred bodies have so far been taken to the General hospital with scores severely injured.
Further investigations by TheNewsGuru.com shows that Olaoluwa area is most affected because of the intimidating Hausa population.
TheNewsGuru.com earlier reported that the Yoruba men had accused the Hausa men of raping and harassing their wives unabated.
As at the time of filing this report, the Hausa community had attacked a Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church and also burnt down several schools in the area.
According to an eye witness who also spoke on condition of anonymity with TheNewsGuru.com, the violence actually started yesterday (Tuesday) but got more intense on Wednesday morning (today) when the Hausa community came out en mass to harass the indigenes. They were reported to have massacred innocent school children in Oranmiyan in the process.
The Hausa community was also reported to have razed down most buildings in Oreoluwa sparing only mosques.
However, despite the presence of the police and other sister security agencies, the indigenes were unperturbed as they seem prepared for full scale war with the Hausa community.
