Actually we have had this record since January, it was right after I dropped Vibe and it seemed like the next song to drop.
Duncan Mighty and myself, we’ve spoken for a long time about working together and so he was in Lagos and I invited him out to the studio, played him a couple of records and that one in particular and he was like, I love this record, and literally in 10, 15 minutes, he wrote his verse.”

Indeed 2018 can be described as Tiwa Savage’s most explosive year in music. The Berkeley College of Music graduate became the first Nigerian female artiste to win the MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMAs) in the Best African Act category.A feat she treasures deeply.

On Sunday August 26th 2018, the singer expressed her travails and pains via her Insta stories. In her message, the acclaimed singer revealed that she feels like giving up.

THE YEMI ALADE FACTOR
The supremacy tussle between Tiwa Savage and the equally gifted Yemi Alade has been a subject of debate in Nigerian music gatherings.
The cold war was ignited sometime in June 2018, when Alade rated herself equal to Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, Davido, Olamide and other A’list music acts ruling the Nigerian music scene during a radio interview.
Reacting over the perceived supremacy tussle, Tiwa said in an interview:”There is no bad vibe actually, everytime we see each other, it’s just the mutual respect that we have for each other.Definitely, I am here for a reason, I think I have worked hard enough… I take every criticism the right way… I definitely don’t think she [Misi] meant it a bad way,” she concluded.
WIZKID’S ‘FEVER’
When telling the story of Tiwa Savage’s strides in 2018, it is impossible to ignore the role her ‘bestie’ Wizkid played.
Back in October 2018, Wizkid released the video for his song ‘Fever’. Amazingly, Tiwa played the role of his love interest in the visuals that currently has 7.9million views on YouTube. The video was the timely PR point Tiwa needed to seal her reign in the Nigerian music landscape.
