Rising actor and filmmaker, Olusola Michael has stated that actors are also victims of sex for roles.
Olusola said that people hardly believe actors experience sexual harassment actresses and female producers.
He made this known in a chat with Tribune.
In his words:”Most people hardly believe that male actors also face sexual harassment from female actors and female producers. That’s the reality most male actors have been hiding .
“There are cases of female producers insisting to go down with a male actor before involving such actor in their projects . In the same vein, we have actresses who are always here and there as far as men matter is concerned”.
In 2004, Bollywood filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar was accused of rape by actress Preeti Jain, who alleged that the filmmaker raped her 16 times for a role in his film.
Over the years, many Nollywood actresses have come out to talk about their experiences, but have refused to name the perpetrators.
Shirley Frimpong-Manso said she didn’t want to have a daughter because she does not want her child to go through what she did as a young woman.
“Even having a script and trying to get somebody to look at it, I’m first addressed as ‘you’re a pretty woman’ instead of ‘this is my work,” she said.
