Legendary Reggae musician, Majek Fashek has stated that artistes of this generation no longer make relevant music.
The veteran musician known for songs like ‘ Send down the rain’ noted that there is huge difference between him and artistes of this generation.
Describing the difference, the singer said: “I make sound while all these young musicians just jam, I make good sound but they are always jamming, they don’t make good sound, they just jam. My song ‘Send down the rain’ was made over thirty years ago, but if you listen to it today, you will realize that the sound will appeal to both the old and equally the young ones because the sound is good and still relevant today, that is something the young musicians don’t have” he told HipTV
In the early eighties Fashek, who at the time went by the stage name Rajesh Kanal, joined the group Jastix with McRoy Gregg, and lead singer Black Rice. They were best known as the in-house band on the show Music Panorama on NTA Benin, and toured with fellow reggae group The Mandators. Jastix were also session musicians for upcoming reggae singer Edi Rasta, who would later be known as Evi-Edna Ogholi.
