BBNaija 2019: Khafi’s management reacts over possible sack report
The management of BBNaija 2019 housemate Khafi Kareem have reacted over her facing possible sack from MET police for having sex on the show.
TheNewsGuru had reported earlier that the MET’s Directorate of Professional Standards has opened investigation on her ‘unprofessional conducts’.
Khafi joined the MET as a police constable based at Lambeth station in 2015 after working part-time as a special constable for four years.
The Sun UK noted that Khafi had been granted unpaid leave but she then requested to go for the show which was refused by the MET police.
The UK police authorities have been unimpressed with her conducts, colleagues told the paper.
“Her out-of-office email reply blatantly says that she is away from work, yet no one does anything.
“Other officers working with her are furious that she can just disobey orders then swan off the Africa and tarnish the reputation of the force,” one of her colleagues was quoted saying.
In a statement released on Khafi’s official Instagram handle, the management said ‘Khafi is a proud black female officer who prides herself in her work and has dedicated her youthful years protecting and serving with her many skills which include the ability to speak at least five international languages.’
Khafi’s management also noted that the report by the UK Sun is not only derogatory but sensational.
The 29-year-old officer’s management said the media house refused to inquire or get her side of the story before publishing the article.

ATTENTION! ATTENTION!! ATTENTION!!! The attention of Khafi's management has been drawn to a publication by The Sun UK of Tuesday, August 13, 2019, titled "LOIN OF DUTY Met Police ‘poster girl’ faces sack for ‘having sex’ on Nigerian Big Brother after being told not to take part". This brazenly sensational and defamatory outburst by The Sun UK is written in poor taste without considering the ethics of journalism which seeks balance and objectivity. At NO time did The Sun UK send a mail of inquiry to Khafi's official email which is blasted across her social media platforms under active management to confirm or refute the claims in the publication. Khafi's side of the story is deliberately and conveniently omitted to sell a pre-conceived narrative while responses from "outraged colleagues" and "other papers" riddle the publication. This comes from a repressive culture of shaming and characterizing women for their sexual decisions and life choices. We find The Sun UK's publication repulsive and damaging to the image and livelihood of our client. Khafi is a proud black female police officer who prides herself in her work and has dedicated her youthful years protecting and serving with her many skills which include the ability to speak at least five international languages. We demand an immediate retraction of the publication by The Sun UK and a public apology to our client Khafilat Kareem within the next 48 hours. Legal options are also being considered at this time. Thank you. Signed Management
