Defiant Tekno releases video for ‘Agege’ amid strippers saga
Nigerian singer, Tekno has released the official video for ‘Agege’, featuring Zlatan Ibile, an indigenous Nigerian rapper. The visuals, directed by TG Omori, were released on Thursday, less than 48 hours after the singer dropped the song’s audio.
The video showcases varied street dance moves, including the controversial scene involving semi-nude ladies dancing in a mobile truck in Lagos.
TheNewsGuru recalls that the ‘Pana’ singer was in the news recently after he was seen throwing foreign currencies at the five oiled ladies in lingerie and smacking their butts as they twerked around a pole. The singer made use of a transparent van meant for mobile advertisement.
Following the social media outrage, the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Advertisement Agency (LASAA) issued a statement describing the occurrence as a “display of crass immorality”.
Tekno thereafter, issued a statement apologizing to persons who had felt offended by the incident, before he was invited for questioning by the state police authorities.
“There was no reason for us to be dancing in a truck around Lekki. There was no music, no ventilation in the truck. We were shooting a music video, and we had a shortage of vehicles to convey people to the next location,” he had said.
So far the video has gotten reviews from Yemi Alade, Emma Nyra, Peter Psquare and others.
