Nigerian pop-star and entrepreneur , 2face Innocent Idibia has stated how DJ Jimmy Jatt contributed to his success story. The multiple award winning singer noted that DJ Jimmy Jatt was the first person to pay the now defunct ‘Plantashun Boiz’.
The singer made it known at a soiree held in his honour called ’20 years a king’ on Wednesday 17th of April at Echoes Of Calabar, Victoria Island , Lagos.
The event was a gathering of the movers and shakers in the Nigerian music industry . The celebrity roll call included DJ Jimmy Jatt, Kenny Ogungbe, Senator Florence Ita Giwa, Olisa Adibua, Faze, Toyin Subair, Dede Mabiaku and a host of others.
The ‘African Queen’ crooner recounted how music started for him, infusing his story with his trademark humour.
He lauded the likes of DJ Jimmy Jatt, Kenny Ogungbe , Nelson Brown and others who played a vital role in his evolution.
2baba who was a clad in beautiful ash native attire said:” Jimmy Jatt was the first person to pay us for a show. Jimmy Jatt paid Plantashun Boiz #5000 at Water Parks Ikeja”.
He also added that veteran music producer, Nelson Brown gave Plantashun Boiz the opportunity to make their music in his studio.
“Nelson Brown believed in us, he gave us the privilege to float our music . God is by your side, No shaking”, he told Nelson Brown.
