Sidney Onoriode Esiri a.k.a Dr Sid has a word for those who say his music career is dead. The ‘Jensimi’ crooner who also doubles as the son of legendary actor, Justus Esiri noted that social media gives people the opportunity to be faceless and say whatever they want to say.
Dr Sid who after 3 years made the tough decision to quit practicing as a dentist, said there are some paths fans should cross.
He said in a chat with Hip TV: ”Anybody who asks me If I am still an artiste, is not a fan. It is what it is, normally I don’t respond to trolls. People are just looking for attention. Social media has just given people an avenue to be faceless and say whatever they want to say without the fear of consequences or repercussions. I am one of those who believes that I cannot be liked by everybody. If you don’t have the decorum to know that there are certain lines that you don’t cross. If you think my career is dead, that is fine”.
Dr Sid’s statements were triggered by a fan who said his career died the moment his father passed on.
In 2014, Dr Sid starred in Moses Inwang’s ‘The Last 3 Digits’. He played an NYSC corp member and a friend to Nonso Diobi in the movie. The movie is packed with so many action and intrigues. The star studded movie won the People’s Film Festival’s Best International Film award in Paris, France.
