Beautiful veteran Nollywood actress, Regina Askia has expressed her opinion on the ongoing alleged rape scandal trailing Biodun Fatoyinbo, Senior Pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly(COZA).
Askia noted that the decision of the senior pastor to step aside from the pulpit was a small victory for those who have suffered sexual abuse.
TheNewsGuru, TNG recalls that Pastor Fatoyinbo yesterday announced a leave of absence from the pulpit in order to clear his name from the rape scandal involving him and Busola, wife of Timi Dakolo.
According to him: “I have solicited their guidance on actions I should take that are honouring to our Lord Jesus Christ and the work He has called me to do.
“Drawing from their counsel and that of the leadership of COZA and owing to my love for God’s work and the sacred honour of my calling, I have decided to take a leave of absence from the pulpit of the church.
“Although it would break my heart to tatters to stay a day without doing ministry I believe it is the right thing to do at this time. It is in the interest of the flock of Christ that issues concerning me do not become a distraction to their worship of their Lord.
“This step enables me to submit to the concerns of my spiritual mentors as they consider all the issues that have been raised against me”.
Reacting to the development, Regina Askia wrote: “The power of Social media. Thank you, everyone, for sending out a loud and clear message demanding for accountability and justice for Mrs Dakolo .
“This is a small victory for her and all others who suffered rape.
“We can only push on for the law to take its full course from here on, towards an indictment or exoneration.
“Either way, her voice was heard. Thanks to you all.”
