The duo of Tiwa Savage and Wizkid will be performing alongside Jay-Z and Beyonce at the next Global Citizen Festival.
The epoch making concert is scheduled to hold on December 2 at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
Global Citizens Festival will be the culmination of the Global Poverty Project’s ‘Mandela 100’ campaign — a series of events celebrating the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela in his centenary year.
The likes of Femi Kuti, Cassper Nyovest, D’banj, Sho Madjozi, Usher, Ed Sheeran, and Pharrell Williams will also performing at the three-day event which will be hosted by Naomi Campbell, Sir Bob Geldof, Gayle King, Tyler Perry and Forest Whitaker.
Celebrated business mogul, Oprah Winfrey will deliver the keynote speech at the event.
On his participation, Afrobeat musician,Femi Kuti who recently hosted French president Emmanuel Macron at the New Afrika Shrine said: “The Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 is a great opportunity to use the emotive power of music to draw attention to the issue of extreme poverty globally.
“I look forward to joining the shining lights of this generation to inspire citizens and governments to end this.”
