Nigerian singer and rapper, Zlatan Ibile, has opened up on how he almost “carried laptop” during his early days after girls frustrated him over affluence.
A video clip, apparently from his Instagram live session, has now gone viral, in which the ‘Leg Work; singer narrated how hard times left him considering alternatives just to become wealthy.
Zlatan also recounted how he had suffered a great deal such that it was only when he started earning enough to buy a car and other luxuries that ladies found him attractive for relationship.
“I almost carried laptop, I almost carried laptop, I was frustrated. I just thank God. Girls show me pepper o,” the singer can be heard saying in Pidgin English.
“Omo na fine boy dey get girlfriend, I nor gree see girlfriend, dem show me pepper. Na wen I win car, I get girlfriend.”
In an interview Zlatan opened up on the most unforgettable criticism he has ever gotten.
“The worst bashing I got was when I was trying to help a boy called Segun Wire and I was beaten in the open, in broad daylight. The mother of the boy said I was making money off him. She stripped herself and lied that I had beaten her. Unfortunately, I got mobbed by some guys right there. I actually thought that would be the end of my career. Luckily for me, it was a blessing in disguise”
