When 2face unveiled his hit song ‘Amaka’ featuring DMW’s Peruzzi, little did we know that it was going to be a major pop song that would light up Nigerian entertainment landscape.
Delivered in a mix of English, Pidgin and Ibibio languages, the tune changes the rhythm of any event whenever it is being played.
The ‘Amaka’ fever has spread like fire and even Cyclone Artemis, a Nigerian Afropop singer couldn’t resist it.
Cyclone Artemis recently did a satirical cover of the song which is fast getting the kind of attention the original version garnered. Even 2face acknowledged her version of the song on his Instagram page.
On what inspired her to do the cover of the song, Cyclone told TNG:” I super loved what 2baba and Peruzzi did with it. I have a knack for doing comic replies to songs that have great themes and story lines.I wrote it in one night, sitting in my bathroom”.
An excited Cyclone couldn’t hide her delight and excitement over how the song has helped her blossoming music career.
“I feel like I am still dreaming. The video has accumulated nearly 1 million streams and views on social media, Youtube and music stores worldwide. My social media followers have doubled in size and I am so thankful to 2baba for putting this girl on. I’m never going to forget this”.
It is rare for you not to find an artiste of this generation who doesn’t adore 2baba, Cyclone is not an exception.
“I have adored 2baba since his Plantashun Boiz days and I can confidently say that his artistry heavily contributes to the foundation of my art. Everything about him spells the word legend and I couldn’t be more thankful that God used him to make a way for me”.
The bubbly singer also noted that she is working on new projects set to dazzle her fans.
“The video to my song “Say Hi Already” is almost done and will be released in a few weeks. I am also working on a new single and an EP”.
