‘Pour me water’ sensation, Mr Eazi is no doubt a talented artiste who doesn’t just understand music, but also the business side of music.
Eazi who recently unveiled his album ‘Lagos to London’ has launched his mentorship programme ‘Empawa’ targeted at empowering budding young talent to shoot for global success.
At the media parley for Empawa on Tuesday 20th of November 2018, Eazi opened up about the bitter sweet side of being a performing artiste.
“Even me that you see here I am learning on the job, my performances keep changing and I keep adapting. Even me I need help, I perform sometimes and people scream and I perform in some other places and someone say:’ This guy sef, I just wasted my money’.
He also noted that artistes need to find their rhythm, adding that there is no particular formula when it comes to succeeding as a stage performer.
“I have done a show where I used live band, people were screaming, I took that same band to outside Nigeria and people were complaining. After that we had to switch it to live band and a DJ. The first time we did it, people loved it. There is no actual formula; you have to find your rhythm”.
The Banku music boss also noted that Adekunle Gold is one of his favourite performers.
“Adekunle Gold is one of the best performers I know . I tell him everytime,If he is here he will tell you”.
When asked If he has sole right to his creative content as an artiste, he said:”No body owns my content, I own my content, everything. I’m not trying to make someone else a slave.I am not an expert, I just started doing music 2 years ago, I didn’t plan to do this”.
