belinda1When you think of actress Belinda Effah, what comes to your mind?The beautiful Cross Rivers State role interpreter is popular for playing the role of a victim in movies.

Belinda got her major break in acting for the role she played in the movie Kokomma. She also clinched three awards for that same movie.

In a recent chat with Ebony Live, she talks about  why she plays the role of a victim most times in movies.


“I don’t know, I am always a victim in movies .It just so happens that I get those kind of roles. People  say I cry a lot in movies. At times, I do something out of the ordinary; people will be like” You are too wicked in this movie.” I like to try out different things but I will say that is my strength. It’s just one movie that speaks for you at the end of the day, so I like to speak about that one movie.


Belinda wishes to be recognized beyond the shores of Nigeria, Africa at large. Hear her:”My wish is to be recognized internationally, not just to be a local face or an African face.Let a white person also recognize me, let the Asian also recognize me”.
