Afrobeat musician, Seun Kuti has urged Nigerian students to engage and question the Federal Government on the state of the Nigerian education sector.
In his series of Tweets written in Pidgin English, the singer bemoaned the unending strike by the Academic Staff and Universities Union (ASUU).
He counseled students to demand answers from the government, chiefly on the inequality in the educational sector.
He condemned a situation where children of the country’s elite get to school abroad while the average Nigerian youth is idle at home as a result of the ongoing strike.
Kuti also questioned equal rights and justice often preached by the government.
“Wetin happen to equal right & justice, why most Naija rich pikin dey go uni 4 oyibo land & dem go come close our own uni for our motherland?”
The singer, asked several questions focused on health, corruption, politics, and poverty – while encouraging the youths to start seeking to know the policies of the government.
