Soji Alabi, the husband to revered gospel artiste, Tope Alabi has come out to defend his wife, maintaining that she has done nothing wrong, in respect of a short video currently in circulation showing her dancing zanku.
The husband stated that people believe things without finding out reasons, adding that his wife should be left alone.
“People should not just believe things without finding out the reasons. That video was definitely recorded at the wake keep service of my wife’s late father. As somebody who just lost her father, she was just trying to dance away the tears and she just expressed herself. Nobody saw her when she was crying, but now they are against her for dancing? The wake keep was organized by some gospel artists and it was held in front of her late father’s house. Somebody must have recorded the video and sent it online for reasons best known to only God. My wife has done nothing wrong please” he told Vanguard.
In her reaction, Tope Alabi who was a guest on TVC’s “Wakeup Nigeria”, Tope Alabi stated that she needed that dance at that time. According to the gospel singer, she was dancing at her father’s burial and people with “spiritual eyes” will understand its meaning.
“In a nutshell, I needed that dance. It was at my father’s burial. The praise was organised by my gospel artiste friends after the wake keep. I just needed it. A lot of people don’t have the privilege to bury their parents. If you are spiritual you would know that as a spirit being , I needed that dance”.
