The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker representing Amuwo Odofin Federal Consistency at the House of Representative, Oghene Egoh and the gubernatorial candidate of PDP Lagos State, Jimi Agbaje have lamented the deplorable condition of roads in part of the State.
TheNewsGuru (TNG) reports both Agbaje and Egoh lamented the deplorable condition of the roads, especially in Ijegun Egba Satellite Town under Amuwo Odofin while speaking during a town hall meeting recently organized by stakeholders in Satellite Town Lagos.
They both attributed the deplorable condition of the roads to activities of tank farms in the area.
Egoh stated that he personally felt ashamed about the insensitivity and neglect by the present administration to the plight of the people, pointing to bad road, poor electricity supply, poor education, lopsided appointment and fighting against corruption, increase in the activities of Boko Haram and killing, increase in the country debt, granting of amnesty to those that defected to APC regardless of billion of Naira/Dollars they stole.
According to the lawmaker, the ruling party had inflicted hunger and pain on the people and has failed vehemently, while Agbaje, in the same vein, shared the feeling of all stakeholders.
According to Agbaje the purpose of the town hall meeting was not for rally, but to enable stakeholders to present bordering issues for inclusion in his plan.
After listening to stakeholders submission, Agbaje responded that issues raised by Egoh and some of the questions raised had been budgeted for, but that for corruption that had eaten deep into the system, such allocation cannot be accounted for.
He made a reference to Alhaji Lateef Jakande achievements within a period of four years which he said is worthy of emulation.
Agbaje promised some key points agenda as his major priority to ameliorate the suffering of the people if elected as the Governor of Lagos State.
He promised to improve the standard of education, to provide good hospital and free health care service, mini water project in all communities, giving scholarship to deserving students, and to give room to young men and women to participate in his administration.
He also promised freedom of information to all Lagosian to know about the taxes they pay and how such money is spent, and also to improve in power supply by generating 1000mw in one and half year in office and increase it to 3000mw within four years, while promising to make all roads motorable for business friendly environment.
Agbaje also pledged to reduce tenement rate, to stop further building of additional tank farms in Ijegun Egba Satellite Town, and to profer solution to the menace being caused by the existing tank farms.
He also promised to look into the master plan if containers terminal is inclusive, and promised indigene and none indigene will feel the impact of democracy.
He concluded by saying that necessary machinery will be put in place to ensure free and fair election in the State.
