The Member representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State, Rep. Busayo Wole Oke on Wednesday described the passing away of music ICON, Majekodunmi Ifasheke popularity known as Majek Fashek as sad and painful, saying that the Ijesha land and the Nigeria nation lost an illustrious son.
In a statement made available to news men in Abuja by Rep Oke who is also the the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, the lawmaker said that the deceased would be missed by all yorubas, especially those from Ijesha land
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, law makerHe said the late Majekodunmi who died at the age of 56, gave his best in terms of representing the Ijesha/yorubas in the rege music around the globe.
According to him, “on this day, I join millions of lover of his rege music to mourn a very distinguished man, who made Nigeria music industry proud
”Though he is no more today, we find solace in the fact that he lived a life worthy of emulation may God grant the good people of Osun State and the family the fortitude to bear the loss and well to grant him Peaceful Rest”..
He however urged the State government to immortalise the late Music Ambassador to encourage Youths in their chosen professions.
