The Dangote Academy has on Monday inaugurated the Junior Technicians Scheme (JTS) batches 3 and 4 made up of 100 trainees.
TheNewsGuru reports the JTS Batch 3 is the regular run with candidates drawn from the whole country while the JTS Batch 4 is a special intervention by the Group to support the Obajana and Ibese communities through provision of technical and entrepreneurial skills and invariably contribute to the employability of Nigerian Engineers and Technicians within the communities.
The categories of engineers being trained and employed by the Dangote Academy include Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical and Mining engineers, the Academy said in a statement.
The vocational training under the scheme covers welding and fabrication; fitting and machining; mechanical maintenance; automobile maintenance; electrical installation and maintenance; instrumentation, and amongst others.
With the induction of the 100 new students, yesterday at Obajana, Kogi State, the Dangote Academy has now trained over 700 engineers and technicians between 2011 and 2018, of which most of them have been employed.
