Delta state Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has today sworn in 23 elected council chairmen at Asaba.
TheNewsGuru reports the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) won 23 out of the 25 local government councils where elections took place in the state on Saturday.
Present during the swearing in ceremony include the Deputy Governor of Delta State Barr Kingsley Otuaro, Former Governor of Delta State Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, People’s Democratic Party Chairman in Delta Barr Kingsley EsisoEsiso , Federal and State Lawmakers, State Executive Council Members, Board Members, Political Appointees and other dignitaries.
Those council sworn in are:
- Aniocha South: Oseme Chukwugozie
- Aniocha South: Anwuzia Isaac
- Bomadi: Williams Angadi
- Burutu : Agele Godknows
- Ethiope West: Solomon Golley
- Ika North East : Victor Ebonka
- Ika South : Victor Okoh
- Isoko North: Egbabor Emmanuel
- Isoko South: Ikpokpo Itiako
- Ndokwa East: Governor Ameche
- Ndokwa West: Osakwe Ifeanyichukwu
- Okpe: Julius Scott Jessa
- Oshimili North: Louis Ndukwe

The Chairman of the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC), Barr. Mike Ogbodu, who supervised the declaration of results in Asaba, the state capital on Sunday evening, said there would be rerun election in two local governments where the exercise could not hold.
