Senate Leader Sen Dr. Ahmad Lawan has assured that the National Assembly will ensure that the 10% increment in the emoluments of protesting workers of the legislative institution agreed by both parties is implemented totally.
He said that the protest by members of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria PASAN at the National Assembly on Tuesday is not about the legislators but was targeted at the management of the institution.

Addressing a press conference at the main lobby of the apex legislature, Lawan said that the legislators are also looking into the issue of condition of service of the protesting workers.
He appeal to the protesters that they should not stop the plenary of the lawmakers from taking place and added that their only interest is to ensure a conducive atmosphere for sitting to hold at both chambers of the legislature.
The lawmaker further assured that the they would ensure that legislative staff are well trained and well catered for by the institution.
Our correspondent had earlier reported that members of staff of the apex legislature had staged a violent protest over the non payment of Consolidated Salary Scale CONLESS to workers by the management of the legislature.
They carried placards with various inscriptions asking for the payment of their entitlements by the management of the institution led by the Clerk to the National Assembly CNA Alhaji Mohammed Ataba Sani-Omolori.
