Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs, Hon Usman Kumo has adivised the Federal Government to stop an open ended war operations to conquer Boko Haram.
Kumo made this revelation in an exclusive chat with TNG on Wednesday immediately after plenary where insecurity was the major item discussed.
He said “there’s no way an open ended war can be won the way the Boko Haram war is being conducted for now.
“A more pragmatic approach should be adopted with an embedded time frame for it to end.
“Once this is done those prosecuting the war can be given awards if they succeed but where they fail they can equally be scolded.
“It’s a known hard fact that every 1kmsq in this country there’s somebody in charge, why not leave that to the state governors as chief security officers of their territories”.
