There was pandemonium at the Okota area of Lagos State on Saturday morning as some armed members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) stormed Pulling Unit 17 at Century Street, Ago Palace Way to disrupt the ongoing voting process.
According to an eye witness who was disenfranchised as result of the fracas, the process started well until some OPC boys came and insisted that people should vote for the APC candidate.
“I arrived at the polling unit this morning with high spirits with some other voters. This is pulling unit 17, Fredrick Fasehun Street, Century Bus stop, Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos. Sooner had we commenced the process that some OPC boys came and said we must vote for all APC candidates or leave the pulling unit. I apprehended them and they threatened to beat me up. They said opposition party won there in 2015 because the founder of OPC was alive, now that he is dead, APC must win. They thereafter destroyed the ballot boxes and papers,” he said expressing disappointment at the process.
Similarly, electoral materials were snatched and destroyed in Mushin at Ward G1 unit 036, Imasuen street.
