Policeman shot in the head, plenary forcefully adjourned
There was pandemonium on Tuesday as members of the Islamic Group of Nigeria, invaded the National Assembly Complex over the continued detention of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky by the Muhammadu Buhari led administration.
As at the time of filing this report the protesters had scaled through the first gate of the complex.
TheNewsGuru gathered that a policeman was disarmed by the wild protesters and was shot in the head.
They entered the main entrance popularly known as MOPOL gate and vandalised the gatehouse.
The protesters reportedly damaged some vehicles including a police van with two other policemen injured in the process.
According to TNG’s correspondent, the injured security personnel were immediately taken to the National Assembly Clinic for treatment.
The gates to all the National Assembly premises have been closed, plenary adjourned as staff and other accredited persons ran for dear lives.
