Breaking: Police make u-turn on Saraki
The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has made a reverse of earlier invitation sent to Senate President Bukola Saraki to appear at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The Police in a statement by Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, ACP Jimoh Moshood, had invited Saraki over the Offa bank robberies of April 5, 2018, in which 30 people, including nine policemen, died.
“Following my earlier post, I have received the letter from the Police. They are no longer asking me to appear at any station, but to respond in writing to the allegations within 48 hours,” the Senate President said of the Police reverse on his official Facebook page.
TheNewsGuru reports Saraki had earlier said he was ready to appear before the Police; and then sent his ADC to the Force Headquarters to receive the official letter inviting him to the Force Headquarters.
Meanwhile, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo met behind closed door with the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris; Director General of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
