The Presidency is under fire after releasing President Muhammadu Buhari’s 1961 class photograph apparently to defend his Cambridge University documents which became a public concern after it was debated upon at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja.

Reacting to the old photograph on Thursday, netizens on Twitter showered criticisms on Buhari’s Personal Assistant on Social Media, Bashir Ahmad, over the President’s photograph showing him among his classmates at their Katsina Provincial School in 1961.

The President, then a young man in the photograph, is seated fifth from left, with two White men presumed to be their school officials.

In the run-up to the 2015 and 2019 presidential elections, issues about the President’s certificate and academic qualification were campaign topics.

Again, at the ongoing case brought before the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal by the opposition PDP and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, the President’s certificates also featured prominently.

Consequently, Ahmad’s tweet about the President’s Form VI class photograph met with criticisms.
