Taslee Palm City Estate is currently on total lockdown
There is palpable fear among residents of Taslee Palm City Estate, Plot 475, Uruguay Street, in Maitama, Abuja, after they reportedly evacuated the son of former Vice President, Abubakar Atiku who tested positive to COVID-19.
According to reports, Mo Atiku Abubakar (Atiku’s son) was said to have developed temperature on arrival to Nigeria after his trip to the UK and France despite his dad’s warning.
According to other sources at Taslee Palm City Estate, he was said to have contacted the virus and attempted to return home but his dad asked him to stay back in the UK and get treatment but he refused and came home.
Instead of reporting to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) on his return, sources said Mo went home to meet with his wife and 3 kids.
It was gathered that his dad, Atiku was very angry, and personally called the disease centre to pick him up and was forcefully taken to Gwagwalada Hospital, Abuja.
Now, all his domestic staff and family members are currently frequenting the disease centre for tests. We gathered that upon his arrival his temperature was suspicious but he refused self-isolation and test.
One of the things getting people angry in the Taslee Palm City Estate is that Mo Atiku Abubakar allowed his children to mix up with other kids in the estate and even took them to school as normal.
Reports indicate Mo Atiku Abubakar was on Friday allegedly at PLAY LOUNGE, WUSE 2, clubbing with his wife, friends and children and at the Juma’at Service.
“We were told that as soon as the NCDC was informed, immediately an ambulance was sent to the house to get all of the family. “A test was carried out and they tested positive. Now the whole estate is on lockdown, tension everywhere, parents are crying. This thing is real. Please remain indoors as much as possible”, a source said.
According to a statement issued by the estate’s association, Atiku’s son was evacuated by medical personnel from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital for treatment after he was reported to the agency by the estate resident.
Residents of the estate were advised to prevent their children from playing outside their homes, and also minimize the number of visitors they invite into the estate as proper screening will be carried out henceforth.
“All none resident domestic staff such as drivers, cleaners, cooks, and nannies, among others, will not be granted access into the estate,” the Taslee Estate Palm City Residents Association (TPCRA) said.
