Apparently following the directive of Federal Capital Territory Authority, FCTA, that markets and shops should shut down today, most big shopping malls across Abuja are gradually shutting down.
Thenewsguri.com, TNG reports that most big shopping malls have started to close their shops to beat FCTA’s deadline on Friday.
In Kubwa, the three biggest shipping malls, Nadrem, Pep, and Hassan stores as at 4.30pm had closed their shops.
As at 12midnight on Thursday most of these mega stores were jam-packed as Abuja residents rush to do last minute shopping.
Other smaller shops along Gado Nasko Way in Kubwa had also shut down except for a few that are still attending to customers.
Eyewitness account of the situation in Abuja city also confirmed that the big malls there too are shutting down.
Recall that FCTA had issued a directive on Monday that all markets in FCT must shutdown because of Covid-19 scourge on Friday.
