No fewer than twelve people have now been confirmed dead in the collapsed building in Ita- Faaji Lagos Island.
Forty one people have also been confirmed injured, comprising three adults and thirty-eight children.
The death was confirmed by the general manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Adeshina Tiamiyu who was present at the site of the incident.
He however urged parents of the pupils to identify their children as the rescue effort goes on.
Similarly, the deputy governor of Lagos State, Idiat Adebule have also visited the Lagos Island General Hospital to commiserate with the families of the victims particularly the parents of the children involved.
The collapsed building is one of those which had since been marked by the Federal Government for demolition in the densely populated area.
It, however, caved in at about 9:45 am on Wednesday, raising fears for the lives of the hundreds of inhabitants.
