Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Geoffrey Onyeama on Thursday said that Nigeria will strengthen diplomatic relationship with the Republic of Angola noting that both countries have had mutual cooperation for a long time till now.
The Minister made the remarks during a working visit by the Foreign Minister of Angola Mr Manuel Domingos Augustos in his office in Abuja.
He noted that being oil producing nations, both Nigeria and Angola had enjoy close cooperation for a long time adding that there is the need to forge a common front on many issues by both countries.
The Minister said that the Gulf of Guinea is an area both countries can forge a common front and make impact in world politics and regretted that economic crisis is prevalent in both countries despite their oil productions.

On his own part the visiting Angolan Foreign Minister Mr Manuel Domingos Augustos congratulated Nigerians for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the 2019 general elections.
He called for frequent bilateral meetings between the two countries and challenged African nations to reduce officialdom and bureaucracy in international affairs.
He regretted that Nigeria has over 1 million illegal migrants in Angola and and assured for a friendly business environment for Nigerian businessmen in that country.
