The national leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) on Saturday embarked on a synergy building visit to the Palace of the Ona of Abaji, with a view to addressing kidnapping along Abuja-Lokoja road.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the Ona of Abaji, His Royal Majesty (HRM), Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, who is the Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers in the federal capital territory (FCT), advised the youths to be peaceful, even while addressing the challenge.
He also advised the youth to work as one united front and shun ethnoreligious intolerance, stressing that if the youth can work with the Traditional Institution under a sincere partnership, most of Nigeria’s problems will be significantly dealt with.
Speaking on reason for the visit, President of NYCN, Mr. Solomon Adodo said the core focus of partnership the council was seeking include mutual roles towards addressing current and emerging security challenges in the FCT, with particular focus on kidnapping along Abuja-Lokoja road, one chance robberies, et al.
“We were warmly received by the Ona of Abaji and Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers in the FCT, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa alongside the traditional cabinet and a few Honorable members of Abaji Area Council,” Adodo said shortly after the visit.
He explained that another core focus of partnership the council was seeking include vistas of innovative and active engagement of the youth to spur productivity and reduce unemployment and the welfare and proper political consideration of indegenous inhabitants of FCT in all scheme of affairs in tandem with Constitutional provisions and relevant Court pronouncements.
Adodo said it also includes national peace, security and harmonious coexistence geared at national development and economic growth.
“His Royal Majesty bathed our team in an ocean of wisdom, finely trained advice and meticulous guidance on the right pathway to go in the lofty task ahead.
“Going forward we shall be building formidable partnerships with the traditional institution across the entire country. We have reached the end of the tunnel and our light is here,” the NYCN President said.
