Foremost Urhobo socio-cultural body, Urhobo Social Club, Lagos (USCL), has congratulated one of its members, Olorogun Bernard Okumagba, on his appointment as the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
In a statement signed by the publicity secretary of the USCL, Chief Dan Oghoyone, the club urged all the ethnic groups within the NDDC area of operation to support Okumagba and the new board to bring the much-needed development to the region.
The club frowned at individuals and groups opposing the appointment of Okumagba and some of the new board members. The club said beyond coming from an oil-producing area, Okumagba is a proven technocrat with experience in the public and private sectors. “We have no doubt that he will live up to expectation. But all stakeholders need to give him their support to make his tenure even more fruitful. We urge all individuals and groups avoid rivalry, politics and any form of distractions. Let us support the new NDDC Board so that our region
can enjoy the much-needed growth and development,” Chief Oghoyone added.
