Videos: Fear as Nigerian Army floods Abuja major roads in monthly exercise

There was panic in Abuja on Friday as thousands of military officers marched round the city in an exercise called route march.

According to the Army, the reroute march is a monthly army activity meant to enhance physical and mental fitness of soldiers in order to make them ready to fight Insecurity.

TNG correspondent reports that the Army officers converged as early as 6am at the guards brigade also called the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonement and marched through Kubwa Express Way and later returned to the contonement where they were addressed.

Addressing the troops, the Chief of army staff Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai assured officers and men of the army of promotion , that they should continue to work very hard.

The army chief who was represented by army chief of policy and planning Lt. Gen. Lamidi Adeosun also called on the soldiers to be mindful of their personal securities considering the evil things happening a the end of the year.

Recall that the Army has earlier announced Friday (November 1) as kick off datebook for Operation Positive Identification (OPI). Nigerians have however expressed mixed feelings as the operation commences nationwide today.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff has assuredly Nigerians of their safety before, during and after the operations.
