Amidst the economic and security challenges Nigeria is faced with, President Muhammadu Buhari has pleaded with citizens of the country asking them to “keep faith” with his administration.
President Buhari, in a statement, said his administration is making progress in stabilizing the Naira and improving business environment.
He said his administration will again focus much on infrastructural development in 2018, and that Nigerians will see noticeable change going forward.
“On the economy, I’m pleased with the progress we’re making, the stable Naira, falling inflation, rising external reserves, rising harvests, an improving business environment as demonstrated by our rise in the World Bank’s Doing Business Index, and growing manufacturer confidence.
“Our focus in 2018 is infrastructure: roads, our railway projects, power, and airport concessions. We will intensify our efforts, and you will see progress.
“Security will also continue to be a priority. We have increased the deployment of security forces, to halt the attacks by herdsmen on communities, and bring to an end the sorrow and hardships that vulnerable communities have had to endure,” said Buhari.
“I ask you to continue to keep faith with us, we will accomplish everything we promised,” he further stated while expressing gratefulness to Chinese government for supporting his administration in financial and technical ways.
