A 4-year-old named Isla has been commended as a superhero after her heroic meant that her mother’s life was spared after she fell into a coma.
TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports the Franklin Township Police Department, Somerset, New Jersey on Thursday honoured the four year old little girl whose quick thinking and calm saved the life of her mother.
“Today we want to introduce you to Isla. She is 4 years old and she is a SUPERHERO! Isla’s mom had a medical emergency and passed out. Isla stayed calm and called 9-1-1 to get her mom help.
“After the emergency responders arrived she helped to keep her younger siblings calm and assured them that everything would be OK,” the Police narrated.
According to Franklin Reporter & Advocate, when it was discovered that the door was locked and that Isla could not reach the lock, one of the officers told Isla to drag over a chair to stand on, which she did, and unlock the door.
Meanwhile, CNN has confirmed the name of Isla’s mom as Haley Glaser, and that she lives at her home in Franklin Township, New Jersey where the incidence of her collapse happened.
Emergency responders were able to revive Haley Glaser and transport her to a local hospital. where she was treated for four days.
Isla found her mother’s cell phone and calmly called 911, and after answering several questions and giving her address, Isla revealed that her father was at work and she was home with her 2-year-old sister and one-year-old twin brothers.
Once inside, the responders rushed unconscious Haley to the hospital where she spent several days with a bacterial infection, according to CNN affiliate News 12 New Jersey.
The Franklin Township Police Department honoured Isla as a hero for her fast thinking in a scary situation.
She received a badge as an honorary police officer and a certificate of commendation.
