Ahead of his expected acquittal at the Senate trial today, President Donald Trump, Tuesday night, in his third State of the Union address, accused Democratic Congress members of trying to use socialism to destroy Americans’ healthcare.
President Trump also accused Sanctuary States of harbouring criminal aliens who unleash violent crimes against American citizens, instead of handing them over to ICE for removal.
The President delivered the annual address before a Joint Session of the Congress in the Capitol Hill, Washington D.C., with Speaker Nancy Pelosi presiding. Trump and Pelosi last met in October, 2020.
“But as we work to improve Americans’ healthcare, there are those who want to take away your healthcare, take away your doctor, and abolish private insurance entirely. One hundred thirty-two lawmakers in this room have endorsed legislation to impose a socialist takeover of our healthcare system, wiping out the private health insurance plans of 180 million Americans. To those watching at home tonight, I want you to know: We will never let socialism destroy American healthcare!”
Vice President Mike Pence, led Republicans Senators to the House of Representatives Chamber. Chief Justices John Robert, members of the Cabinet and First Lady Melanie Trump, were also in attendance, among other dignitaries.
Trump who walked into the Chamber amid tumultuous standing ovation, refused to shake hands with Speaker Pelosi who later introduced him.
Both avoided eye contact all through the address. Pelosi who could not hide her emotion, ripped her copy of the President’s speech and threw it away after the presentation.
In the address, he stated that the United States economy was stronger and better. He revealed that unemployment rate was the lowest in half a century. He described his administration’s economic success as “a blue collar boom”.
He stated that his administration was able to achieve criminal justice reform. Companies and factories that left the country, he boasted, were now returning.
A whooping sum of $2.2 Trillion, he revealed was spent on the purchase of military aircrafts.
He called on the Congress to pass the Equal Opportunity Education Bill, that would enable 50 million children have technical and vocational education.
He declared that he would not allow socialism to destroy American health care. He alleged that extreme left lawmakers in the Congress wanted to use American tax payers money to fund free health care for illegal aliens who forced their way into the country through Southern borders. He emphasized that the border walls construction was in progress.
He accused Sanctuary States of harbouring criminal aliens who commit violent crimes against Americans. Trump chided the Sanctuary States for not handing over the aliens to ICE for removal. He called on Congress to pass a law to enable victims of such crimes to sue the Sanctuary States.
President Trump waxed philosophical towards the end of the address saying, “America is the place where anything can happen! America is the place where anyone can rise. And here, on this land, on this soil, on this continent, the most incredible dreams come true.
“This Nation is our canvas, and this country is our masterpiece. We look at tomorrow and see unlimited frontiers just waiting to be explored. Our brightest discoveries are not yet known. Our most thrilling stories are not yet told. Our grandest journeys are not yet made. The American Age, the American Epic, the American Adventure, has only just begun!
Our spirit is still young; the sun is still rising; God’s grace is still shining; and my fellow Americans, the best is yet to come.”
