Police not responsible for Maikori’s arrest- Spokesperson

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Youth Frontier has condemned the unlawful re-arrest of former Chocolate City boss, Audu Maikori by security agents

The Police in Kaduna have denied being responsible for the arrest of Audu Maikori, CEO Chocolate City. They made this known through their spokesperson on Sunday.

Maikori’s lawyer, Mark Jacobs told pressmen that  the Kaduna State government had concluded plans to arraign him before a court on Monday morning.

“I am aware that the police in Abuja are taking Audu to Kaduna,” Mark Jacobs, Maikori’s lawyer said.

Reports over the weekend, including tweets by the National Human Rights Commission, said police in Kaduna were holding Mr. Maikori at the State Criminal Investigation Department.

In the same vein,  John Danfulani, an associate of Mr. Maikori who is also standing in as one of his legal representatives, said he met the entertainment entrepreneur in a police facility along Ibrahim Taiwo Road, Kaduna.

“I was with Audu on Friday night. Left him at 8:30 p.m. in Ibrahim Taiwo Road cell.He will appear in court tomorrow,” Mr. Danfulani said.

Though the Police has denied playing any role in Maikori’s arrest, but reports reaching TheNewsGuru says that other law enforcement agencies, especially the State Security Service, might be responsible.
