Rangers International Football Club’s coach Imama Amapakabo says the league defending champions have finally found their winning rhythm in the ongoing 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Amapakabo,in Enugu on Tuesday said that the era of average performance for the team has ended.
He said Rangers got back to winning ways on Sunday after narrowly beating El-Kanemi Warriors FC of Maiduguri 1–0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.
Amapakabo said the last three games had afforded the club’s technical crew the opportunity to put the 11 newly signed-on players into practical and real match test.
“We have observed their strengths and weaknesses. We are done with experimentation of the newly signed-on players.
“As we have found our winning rhythm, by the grace of God and the support of our fans, it will be a long winning streak for the team all the way,’’ he assured.
The Rangers’ coach assured fans of the club of a win in Uyo on Wednesday against hosts Akwa United FC.
“We are going to Uyo to pick the three maximum points and this will see us close to the top of the league table, which is where we should be at the moment,’’ he said.
TheNewsGuru reports that Rangers retained 24 of their old players and signed-on 11 new players for the 2016/2017 NPFL and Federation Cup competition.
The club have so far gained four points from three matches in the ongoing NPFL and will begin their Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League campaign in February
