Eriksen close to Inter move despite Mourinho, Conte feud
Christian Eriksen is close to sealing a £16.8m move from Tottenham to Inter Milan that could see him earn up to £320,000 per week, according to Sky in Italy.
Spurs have been keen to sell the Danish midfielder this month to prevent him leaving on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Antonio Conte wants to add him to his Inter squad and, while sources in England understand the deal has not yet been signed, those in Italy believe it is close to being agreed.
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho reignited his feud with Conte after he discussed Christian Eriksen.
The two managers had a tense relationship when Mourinho was in charge of Manchester United and Conte was Chelsea boss.
It began during the 2017-18 season, reaching a peak when Mourinho said he would never be “suspended for match-fixing”, referring to Conte’s four-month ban for failing to report alleged match-fixing when he managed Juventus, having previously labelled him a “clown”.
Conte, in response, called his counterpart “a little man”.
