WhatsApp has rolled out new privacy settings for Groups in order to help prevent spam group invites that is a pain for so many users.
The new privacy settings for WhatsApp groups invites is meant to help users choose who can add them to groups.
The new privacy settings that can be accessed by going to Settings > Account > Privacy > Groups.
The options available for users to select from are Everyone, My Contacts, and Nobody.
If a user set the privacy settings to the Nobody, the user has to approve joining every WhatsApp group to which they are invited.
The person inviting a user to a group will be asked to send a private invite through an individual chat.
The private invite will expire three days after its receipt.
However, the My Contacts option will enable contacts users have in address book to add them to groups without approval from them.
Also, there is the Everyone option that won’t add any restriction.
