Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has revealed that the slain notorious kidnapper and armed robbery kingpin, Henry Chibueze, aka ‘Vampire’, threatened him and his family over the N5 million ransom placed on him (vampire) by the Imo State Government after his gang members came for his rescue during a court proceeding some few weeks back.
The governor revealed this in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo.
Okorocha said he knew it was only a matter of time before the police catch up with notorious robber.
“When his partners in crime took him away from the High Court a few weeks back, I knew it would not be too long before his ugly chapter would close,” Okorocha said.
The governor however commended the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, for dispatching the special squad that worked with the Imo Police Command to end the ugly episode.
He also commended the Department of State Services (DSS) who first arrested Vampire in Owerri as the arrest raised the consciousness of security agencies and the public on the existence of the hardened criminal.
Okorocha maintained that the declaration he made when he became governor in 2011, that no criminal would survive in the state was still valid.
